Ambiguous....

{first, thank you to all your wonderful comments on my last post....I really appreciate your encouragement :) I agree, you never know what someone else is going through and how your story--no matter how big or small can help them....now on to this unrelated topic. lol}


I never thought that my children would have ambigious names

I haven't had names picked out since I was 5

It's a struggle to name someone.....it's for life!

When I named Kendall, I had NO clue that it was also a male name. I don't even know where the idea of her name really came from. 

But it fits, it's not too masculine, in fact I think it's more feminine than anything

Now, Ryleigh.....

she was originally NOT a Ryleigh

it was a choice of a middle name, but I couldn't decide {drew kept trying to push addison.}

We thought she would be a Lorelai up until the 31st {she was born on the 30th}

SO her name was changed at the last second. 

{charlotte/charly & brooke were also contenders}

Drew had more to do with her name than I did {so you can blame him if you don't like it. lol.}

Ryleigh Anne....{anne is also my middle name, ann is my mom & grandmas middle names--it had to be done :)} 

We chose to spell her name that way since it was more feminine. 

you would think...

she was first called a "he" when we went to get her blood drawn at like 3 days old

**sigh**

by the lady that did her paperwork! she knew the spelling and the middle name. grrrr....

the price you pay I guess. 

plus it doesn't help that our car seat is neutral {blue, purple, green, grey}

and our cover is grey/white/green BUT it has butterflies!!!

apparently girls can only wear pink or purple or they look like a boy.

we try to wear a headband to make sure people know....but still.

I'm pretty sure that she will be getting her ears pierced in about a month-after her first shots, just to add that extra --yes, girl....

but people will still call her a boy, they did with Kendall and Kyla --when they were wearing dresses!! 

whateves.

Her name fits her. She is beautiful.

and to the next person who calls her a he/him---I won't apologize for my dirty looks or attitude when I correct you ;)

To write or not to write.....

I've been thinking about some things but I wonder if I really should share everything that's on my mind.
I see this blog as sort of my own journal....a place to put my thoughts but...really, how much should I share? Does anyone who reads this blog even care? Not like that would matter, but I don't want to lose readers over posts. I don't want to be a Debbie downer type either.

Should I filter my thoughts??
Should I only share the happy & awesome in my life??
If I do share any of this....will I be seen as just complaining?

It's a lot to think about.
I am a complex person with a wide range of emotions {even more so with my hormones leveling out--you know almost 4 weeks post-partum.} I think I am allowed to have some thoughts or negativity without being considered a negative person. I am not. I am very happy, incredibly blessed. I have an amazing husband and awesome family. Two beautiful girls and great friends. But I still have opinions on things and ...insecurities...unfortunately.

Should I share those things here??
If not, where??

PS-"I work out" Wednesday will be coming soon...then some of those insecurities will be put out there!!

Truth be told Thursday
finally getting back into the swing of things. lol.

I feel old when: I make a refernce to something and the hubs has no clue what I am talking about. like those shirts....hypercolor shirts {they changed color by the heat. so if i touched it my hand was imprinted on there, then it would fade once it like cooled off.} He had no clue what I was talking about. My brother had one, or two. but still. 

In my drawer I keep: clothes. the ones you have to fold. I have 4 drawers. 1 is strictly for socks! I have a lot of socks. 

I am thankful for: My husband. My two sweet girls. my family. friends. the gospel. sunshine. a college education. a vehicle. a place to live. my talents. my knowledge & the ability I have to learn more. my bishop. the internet & modern technologies....i could probably go on ;)

I never leave home without: getting dressed....seriously i cannot honestly answer this question about anything else. I forget my phone, or my purse. Sometimes I don't have the kids. Sometimes I don't bring my inhaler {then, that's when you need it, right?}

2 weeks

So Miss R had her 2 week check-up yesterday!! 

What fun! 

We get there and she has to get down to a diaper to get weighed. Those paper tables are cold! She cried, a lot. Lol. As soon as the nurse left I had to nurse her just to calm her down. She fell right to sleep! 

Then, course, the doc came in and it was back to the cold paper table. She did well thou! Her belly button has fallen off but she has a bit of bleeding, pretty normal they say. So is her congestion. That's no fun to hear thou! 

Ok.... On to the stats....

I need these in a general location....so I'm going to write them ALL down. lol.

Birth {3/30/12}

6 lbs 15 oz 

18.5 inches long

Discharge {4/1/12}

6 lbs 9 oz

4 day Check-up for questionable Jaundice {4/3/12}

6 lbs 8.5 oz {14%}

19.8 in long {54%}

head circ: 13.3 in {18%}

2-week check-up--18 days old {4/17/2012}

8 lbs .5 oz {33%}

21.3 in long {79%}

head: 13.8 in {20%}

She gained 1.5 pounds in two weeks!!

you always wonder if your baby is eating enough....well I do. especially with breastfed babies, since you don't see it by the numbers like you do with formula.

apparently I am making enough milk.

kellymom.com is great for getting all sorts of breastfeeding info i <3 it!

it says:

A 5-7% weight loss during the first 3-4 days after birth is normal. Baby should regain birth weight by 2 weeks. Once mom’s milk comes in, average weight gain is 6 oz/week.

sweet!! things are going good!

better...she gained like 10 oz/week!

Next appointment is at 20 months old. We will also bring K in for her 3 year check-up!!

so much fun! she turns 3 next week, but her check-up won't be until the end of may....guess i could've scheduled that better. oh well.
