i made this shirt for k....

we went to dinner and then came home for the big reveal.

daddy hadn't seen it yet...

once he saw it they had some time to talk about daddy daughter stuff. lol.....

Our big announcement that I have been dying to tell everyone!

K is going to be a big sister!!!!!!!!!!!!!

it's even harder for drew to keep the secret, he asks everyday if we can tell everyone yet.

it's cute!

she loves her new shirt.

i took 2 tests before telling drew (he wanted it to be this big thing. lol)

so hard to keep a secret like that!!

then i had to take two more tests.....he didn't quite believe me. this was our first month of trying. I didn't take pics of that. sorry. lol. you get the point. :)

then we had to wait forever for dr. appt.

our trip to cali came right when it was supposed to happen.

so the day after we got back, we had our appt!

everything looks good!

had our ultrasound and heard the heartbeat.

(drew almost passed out/hyperventilated. lol.)

k thought the doctor was taking the baby out right then! lol.

i just took pics of the paper...it's the thermal stuff so it's basically fragile.

i miss getting hard copies and a picture every week.

it was very nerve-wraking. with k i could see her every day and KNOW everything was ok. but i had to be patient and trust in the Lord that everything will be ok.

the baby measured about 10w2d, 2 days ahead of what it should be by my lmp.

so a due date of 3/19/2012 or 3/21/2012 (what i go by) right before our 1 year anniversary!

So grandma Jane and grandpa Craig will get 3 grandchildren in 1 year! (Kendall, the Smith baby, and this unnamed baby!)

we are SO excited!

I am about 11 weeks today. and am barely starting to feel better again.

the morning sickness has kicked my butt so far. ugh! I don't remember it being this bad with k. the peak of it was, of course, on our cali vacay. fun! so it made my car sickness waaayy worse. made me miserable. with k i could eat and feel better (thus i gained a miserable 10 lbs in the first trimester!) this one....the thought of food made me sick. i lived on soup for so long, it was so good. i forced myself to eat real food because i knew i needed to.... then regretted it when it made me feel worse. not fun. Sweets make me more nauseas, the thought of chocolate or reese's pieces, yuck! I would eat sour things though. (i will let your mind wander on what i am having with the cravings! lol)

so i am now getting to the point where i am hungry and need food.....but still look in the pantry and nothing looks good. hopefully the nausea will be alll gone by this weekend! (*fingers crossed*) it's still better than before, thank you! Ginger tea helps. but that's not so yummy! lol.

we plan on finding out the gender, so we will post about that.

I feel like i'm showing already! :/ they say it shows quicker with the 2nd but geeez, 11 weeks? i wake up looking normal, but by the end of the day....there's a bump!

well, that's our BIG news! Glad we can finally share it.

Glad I'm back vertical and have the energy to post. Maybe I can get started and finish up some of these projects....maybe :)

Cali vacay....Day 4

more pics! sorry, it's the last vacay post, i promise!

Funny thou, this wasn't our last day in Cali! This all happened on Saturday and we didn't leave til monday. oops. guess I didn't take anymore pics.....or my battery died and i can't find my charger.

We headed to Huntington Beach. Aunt Rayma and Uncle Wayne are the YSA coordinators and stake reps... they had their YSA regional beach party. So we tagged along. We are YSA program success stories. lol.

k had so much fun walking around on the beach!

she loves it. no shoes either! atta girl!

daddy would carry her for a bit thou, she's kind of slow....or just goes on her own little pace. i call it lali-gagging.

k is just excited.

she would stay in the sand but run back and forth to me and amber, who only got our toes wet. lol! it was coold!

she would come up say "alright, alright mommy?" and once i said yes, she would run away back to her sand pit where she was safe. then do it all over again. lol. she had to make sure those waves weren't taking us away. lol!

the men had more fun in the water. they got tossed a few times on their adventures.

Jared even hit his head on some rocks! yikes! but he was okay!

At about 2 we left, got k cleaned up and in the car. we were going to walk to boardwalk and maybe buy something. but she fell right to sleep in the 5-10 min drive there! lol. so a detour to wal-mart and drive back down to Oceanside to have dinner with my brother and jonathan.

We went to Rockin' Baja Coastal Cantina.

I love this place. years ago i took jon there with my good friend fernanda and her daughter, jade, when we went to Disneyland and I got to go thru the san diego temple.

It was still as good as i remembered it. the location was a different one, but the food was still good. I got my fish taco i had been craving, k got to eat some crabs. that child was eating everything. even stole some of jons chicken. lol.

On sunday we went to church (all 3 hours! pretty good for being on vacay!) Then all the families in the area, all of aunt rayma and uncle wayne's kids that live in cali came by for a BBQ. it was yummy. amber and i made cupcakes. Mine were better, just saying. lol. then we played scattergories! lol!! that was nothing but laughs!

The next morning we left and had THE LONGEST drive EVER. oh my. i hated it.

it was worse than driving across country. seriously. I was never SOOOO happy to be back at amber's house. Then the next day we took the 4.5 hour drive home. ugh. not cool. we were SOO glad to be home!! it took a lot out of us and we needed lots of recovery from it.

But alll well worth it! :)

4th weekend

some pictures from our fun fourth weekend.

it was also pretty exhausting.

but wayyy worth it.

we got to Smith's trout haven at about 3 and set up our tents. then amber and jared got there and we helped them set up.

drew was excited to go fishing. we tried, but the sign had hours on it...turns out we could have ignored the sign. oh well.

we had some yummy tin foil dinners and headed to bed,

it was a cold night.

soooo cold.

i couldn't sleep i was so cold. we weren't exactly prepared for that. for some reason we thought it would be warmer.

k slept fine. she had her fleece footie pjs on and lots of blankets on her air matress.

the next day, after a tin foil breakfast we got all sunscreened up to go to the water park! yay!

we have no pics there...but really, you don't need to see me in a swimsuit. lol

k had tons of fun. she has that swimmers thing to help her float...i dunno what it's called. but she loved being able to swim around like a big girl.

after some naps in our tents drew tried to go fishing again

it was HOT out in the sunny areas.

no fish were caught

so we went to dinner in town

burgers and fries, a corndog and ice cream/shakes :) yummm

after we got back, k got her pole ready

that night was cold again, but we slept IN our sleeping bags and did better

the next day we were out of there by about 930

that sunday we did nothing...napped, sat on the couch, ate and watched the casey anthony closing arguments, and a movie (Black Swan-a&j have that clearplay which edits out parts you don't want to see or hear.....meaning it turns an R movie into PG13!....awesome! i have to get one!)

on monday, the 4th miss k got to finally open her package from grandma and grandpa!

she LOVES stickers...and sunglasses. she is crazy!

she is SOOO funny!

seriously.

she loves to be the center of attention and loves to make you laugh.

this face....makes us laugh. she usually uses it when she say "kendall do it" (in a deep altered voice)

she was all ready to go somewhere.....

and she stayed home. lol

mommy and amber went to get pedicures, we woke so late (a planned sleep-in) so we missed the parade. we were all too tired to deal with the vendors and crowds.

we did meet at olive garden for a YUMMMy lunch.

we were FULL.

so we went to the mall to walk it off, where else?

drew got some new sunglasses and we all stopped at see's candy for some goodies to take home while we watched tv and hung out

she loves her aunt amber and uncle jared....by this day she was calling them the right name. lol. she kept mixing them up. hahaha.

after her nap she was in rare form....she punched me in the face...really!

we think it was something she picked up while watching mommy do P90x-kempo. lol.

then, after ks bath we headed out... but we got some pics first....hmmmm guess we should've before her bath, while we were all dressed for the 4th. oh well.

Pre-nap May 11

it was a nice day out finally....so we went on a walk and to the park in our neighborhood

she kept cheezing for me the whole time...

finally i got a different face from her.

she loves to jump and jump

saying hello into the "telephone" thingy. sometimes she acts like it's a shower.

i love how she swings from the bar above the slide.

this is where she found a bug on the slide....then wouldn't go down it. she backed away...all the way down the stairs. lol.

then she went to sit and talk about the bug on the slide.

we left after that....not much else to do when the slide is filled with bugs.

crazy girl.

i love that i can bust out the flip flops!!

we need more days like this....consistent ones. not 1 nice day. 3 not so nice days.

it has really only gotten up to about 80. if we are lucky. then it rains and is cold and windy. weird.

and not so fun when you have a restless 2 year old who just wants to be outside 24/7.
