FRY SAUCE RECIPE
Have you ever heard of fry sauce?
or "fancy sauce" as heard of in the movie Step Brothers. lol
I wikipedia-d it....it's regional, basically only offered in utah and idaho. I had it when I lived in Arizona--my grandma used to make it as "thousand island dressing"{she's from utah}......
it's basically 1 part ketchup to 2 parts mayo....but have you ever made it??
it just doesn't taste the same!!
SO I tried to make it again and again. using relish, or other spices.....still.....didn't taste as yummy as you get in restaurants/fast-food chains.
MOre experimenting and I found the secret homemade ingredient!!
CHILI SAUCE!!!
Seriously
1 -2 parts mayo
1 part chili sauce
{not an exact science}
and, this is important:
WHISK together until smooth
you can put this on fries {of course} burgers {as like a special sauce} or about anything else you can think of.....which I can't think of right now. lol.
it keeps in the fridge for weeks, in an airtight container/jar.

yeah. hate it. ewwww utahns/idahoans are weirrrrd. and actually when I moved from Georgia to Utah in high school, the lunch lady asked me if I wanted fry sauce and I thought she meant the fryin pan grease! so I said noooo thank you! haha
ReplyDeleteI put mustard in mine. That is one thing I miss here in Maryland. Sometimes I asked for mayonnaise with my ketchup and mix together for my fries.

The world's best fry sauce is Arctic Circle's fry sauce. After I moved to Texas, I called Arctic Circle, told them how bad I needed a fix and they sent me a bottle! Fry sauce is a staple...fries & fry sauce should be its own food group :)
