So I am finally posting about my canvas wreath.
I LOVE it!
i used this tutorial....it is my first ever hot glue gun project.

I had fun making it, it only took about 1 naptime to complete (3 hours)

I love how bright and fun it is.

plus i added some fun yellow striped fabric flowers.
LOVE

i am thinking i still need to add a ribbon for it to hang from.
miiiight get around to that.

update

this is how the child came out of her room one day after her nap....
notice the shoes? lol. don't worry, the diaper is unused.

seriously, thou?
How did i get SO far behind with everything!
ugh.
I'm guessing it's because every night this week we have been having our Harry Potter marathon (the hubs and I love all things HP.)
I've been busy cooking, cleaning, taking care of the little one and trying to fit in my P90x workouts this week....and you know? I kept up with my P90x! yes!!
I'm pretty excited to share with you some of the things that went on this week, including some cake pops, shepard's pie pockets, caramel popcorn, and sewing projects.
But, alas, i'm still trying to recover....i have like 4 unfinished projects, loads of laundry to do, and a list about a mile long (*sigh*)

plus...
Tonight is our ward campout! And I am really excited about it! I love my ward. it's so much fun! I am a bit sad that about 4 families are graduating and moving out (that i know of.) but that's ok. they need to be elsewhere. and we will have more families/couples move in!
Sunday is our first lesson teaching in Sunday School....well, it's a marriage and family relations course that is taught during the same time as Sunday School. It's going to be great!

I guess that's it for right now
hope you all have a great weekend!

4th weekend

some pictures from our fun fourth weekend.
it was also pretty exhausting.
but wayyy worth it.
k loved having her capri suns to carry around. (pic from the next day)

she made herself at home right away.
we didn't take any pics of that friday for some reason...?

we got to Smith's trout haven at about 3 and set up our tents. then amber and jared got there and we helped them set up.
drew was excited to go fishing. we tried, but the sign had hours on it...turns out we could have ignored the sign. oh well.
we had some yummy tin foil dinners and headed to bed,

it was a cold night.
soooo cold.
i couldn't sleep i was so cold. we weren't exactly prepared for that. for some reason we thought it would be warmer.
k slept fine. she had her fleece footie pjs on and lots of blankets on her air matress.

the next day, after a tin foil breakfast we got all sunscreened up to go to the water park! yay!

we have no pics there...but really, you don't need to see me in a swimsuit. lol

k had tons of fun. she has that swimmers thing to help her float...i dunno what it's called. but she loved being able to swim around like a big girl.

after some naps in our tents drew tried to go fishing again
it was HOT out in the sunny areas.
bleh
no fish were caught
so we went to dinner in town
burgers and fries, a corndog and ice cream/shakes :) yummm

after we got back, k got her pole ready

then, this was my view for a while.

and this...
you can see ambers little mama belly emerging there. it's cute.

daddy caught a fish
they were both VERY excited!

then mama caught a fish too!
FUNN!!

k, of course, wanted to "touch a fish"
she loved it

mine is bigger! hhahah!!

amber and jared!

the men, preparing the fish
they also ate it after, it was pretty good.
that night was cold again, but we slept IN our sleeping bags and did better
the next day we were out of there by about 930
that sunday we did nothing...napped, sat on the couch, ate and watched the casey anthony closing arguments, and a movie (Black Swan-a&j have that clearplay which edits out parts you don't want to see or hear.....meaning it turns an R movie into PG13!....awesome! i have to get one!)

on monday, the 4th miss k got to finally open her package from grandma and grandpa!
she LOVES stickers...and sunglasses. she is crazy!

she is SOOO funny!
seriously.
she loves to be the center of attention and loves to make you laugh.
this face....makes us laugh. she usually uses it when she say "kendall do it" (in a deep altered voice)

she was all ready to go somewhere.....
and she stayed home. lol
mommy and amber went to get pedicures, we woke so late (a planned sleep-in) so we missed the parade. we were all too tired to deal with the vendors and crowds.
we did meet at olive garden for a YUMMMy lunch.
we were FULL.
so we went to the mall to walk it off, where else?
drew got some new sunglasses and we all stopped at see's candy for some goodies to take home while we watched tv and hung out

she loves her aunt amber and uncle jared....by this day she was calling them the right name. lol. she kept mixing them up. hahaha.

after her nap she was in rare form....she punched me in the face...really!
we think it was something she picked up while watching mommy do P90x-kempo. lol.

loves her uncle CJ. they got to hang out a little :)

they have lots of fun!

then, after ks bath we headed out... but we got some pics first....hmmmm guess we should've before her bath, while we were all dressed for the 4th. oh well.

and amber and jareds pic

we had tons of fun...and were SO exhausted afterwards.
plus i got sick. ugh.

interesting pinteresting

Backpack

I am finally getting around to posting about the Dora Backpack that I made for miss k. When my mom came to visit after my birthday she helped me finish it.

i used this tutorial.
But I made some changes....

1. my fabric is actually from a long purple corduroy skirt, about a size 12 that I found at the DI for $6. which:
a) gave me a finished topside edge
b) allowed for a pre-made pocket on the back side
c) gave me enough fabric to make 2 back packs (the other is still 1/2 done!)
2. I have added a "map" pocket to the side
3. I also made this backpack a bit larger than hers.
4. added velcro the the inside to keep it closed (which i now need to sew in to it)

the "map" pocket

the original skirt pocket on the back side. it fits mamas cell phone perfectly--with more than enough room.

my velcro....oh, and the flap has a lining also, there wasn't enough corduroy fabric for that little bit.

miss k loves it. she puts it on and carries stuff all around in it.

i'm sure she is just happy that i'm done with it.
every time we would go to walmart, if we stopped by the fabric section she would keep saying "make a backpack."

it was fun. and pretty easy!
my mom did the applique part. that scared me a bit.

check out the links in my sidebar....i may be linking this there :)
