Happy Halloween!
So Halloween isn't until tomorrow.... but we probably aren't going to do anything for it! lol
we're lame like that.
But we did have our church's Halloween Party!
It was tons o' fun!
I made K's costume!
Seriously!
I thought it looked super awesome.
She is Hermoine from Harry Potter (her hair is PERFECT for it!)
the coat is black felt and maroon fleece...it has a lined hood and everything!
I also made the scarf out of some of the fleece and some yellow/gold-ish fabric I found at the thrift store for $1. sweet deal!
I think she really liked it!
she knew she was a witch...she knows about Harry Potter but hasn't seen the movies or read the books.
she's like 2 1/2!
i put together these closures too, made out of elastic and buttons.
the elastic was a bit too long, but it still worked!
He has a scarf too!!
He's the hottest gryffindor around!

They had minute to win it games.....Drew got challenged by the guy whom he home teaches. so, of course he had to do it! there was about 5 ping pong balls in empty tissue boxes, they had to shake them out. it was SO funny! quite the entertainment. He lost by like 2 seconds.
we made some carmel apples and took them home to enjoy! sooo yummy!!
We have a change of plans....guess we are going trick-or-treating on Monday!! yay!
for some strange reason I heard a rumor that there was no trick-or-treating here in town.
i believed it.
it is a college town....why not! lol!! awesome.
So we might go by a friends' house to say hello, then go down their street.
might as well show off the costume one more time! :)
ok, twilight is on TV and I want to watch it--again! lol

Miss K
She's like the forgotten child!
LOL
no, not really
I just haven't had time to sit and write something about what's going on in her little world
She loves getting packages from ma'sani or grandma.
she is such a girl and usually hugs the new clothes.
she thinks her baby sister should be named cinderella
she fake cries and laughs all the time. it's so funny
she still whines like crazy....trying to fix that. any suggestions?
she is basically all the way potty trained. it's not perfect but she has gone 3 nights with just panties. it took a while (partly because she thought panties were the root of all evil, and partly because of our laziness) but we ran out of diapers one day.....so she didn't have a choice! awesome!
We had to get her her own singing potty. It's hers!! she is excited about that. At first she was scared of it when it sang to her! lol. funny girl.
the other night at the soccer game i kept asking if she needed to go potty, she would just say "no, thank you!" so polite.....sometimes :)
she is mimicking daddy in this pic
she loves to be the center of attention and has no concept of stranger danger. she actually says hi and talks to random people (depending on the mood she is in. lol)
a big change from last year when she was SO anti-social!
She loves to steal her aunt amber's phone. once she did a sneak attack, pretending to look at jared's sock and then bam!! she ran off saying "i got your phone!" it was so funny!! we laughed for like 5 min after!
she is in a licking phase. seriously.... it's so weird. i don't understand it!
if you ask her if she is a weirdo...she will reply "yea"
If i am trying to cut up fabric, or sew, she usually comes up to me, saying "mommy, what you doing?" with her head all upside down
she does summersaults now! it's so cute
she discovered rolling down a hill.
she runs, talks, or jumps--non-stop
she is VERY active
when i was taking pics of a project (that i still need to post) she came up to the table saying "look! take my picture!" and she was making the face, above and below!
oh my child!
she can mostly dress herself all the way now, sometimes she gets stuck and sometimes she refuses help.
most of the time....it's on backwards!
she is super excited for "halloween-dress up!" and says trick-or-treat, please
We are forcing her to be Hermoine from Harry Potter.
Next year she will want to choose her own costume, this is my last year to do it. it's going to look awesome! I've made the cloak and scarf (ok, i have slacked on the ties, but oh well)
we have this birdcage thingy....she frequently puts it on her head. all the way!
but she never wants a pic of it covering her face.

she is always playing with her tent. she loves it!!
she can't wait for christmas! we saw halloween(?) lights in all the trees in one street, and she just kept saying...oh look! christmas lights! i'm excited for christmas! i think they really were halloween decorations though. lol.
in the car she starting singing jingle bells....she knows the whole first part...how?? I haven't sung that song to her in a while. I used to all the time when she was a baby. I love christmas songs, and they are some of the ones that i know by heart.
then she started requesting christmas music on our way home from provo last week.
she likes to take baths, but still hates the water to touch her face. weirdo.
but at least she will lay down on her back now.
she has become very defiant lately....she says NO a lot. a whole lot. it's annoying. any suggestions? I didn't think I said no that much, but her actions sure say otherwise.
she also says never after somethings too. ugh. such sass.
a lot of her sentences end with easier....why? we can't figure it out!
and look....she sees me writing this post and gets her birdcage and puts it on!
hahaha! she still has that dang sword in her hand too!
i say dang, because she is like a dog and has started to chew on it. ewww!
she just keeps saying "look at me!"
ok...i think that's it for now...i probably forgot something cool.

Scallop Bag
this is how mine turned out!
I was in need of a bag for church. just for our class manuals (marriage and family relations--so much fun!) plus scriptures and my gospel principles book (which I canNOT find!! grrr.)
I HAD to add a ruffle....of course.
it's so thin because I only used a fat quarter of the aqua (my fav color, can you tell?)
and that was all I had left! lol
I also serged the edges of my scallops before sewing them on.
just in case.
I added some pockets to the back of the outside
like for my cell phone!!
I always lose it at church...not that I really use it, but since I can't find my manual, I use it for that.
I added a label. I figured I could since I did make it by hand and I am not going to be selling it....and I'm not claiming to have made the pattern.

plus I added more pockets, you know, for pens, candy bars, my checkbook, etc.
it's super awesome!
I love having something DONE!
Plus, it really only took like a day, if that.

I slept horribly last night... I was so anxious and excited about our ultrasound today.
I knew the baby would be healthy. One of those things. It's one of those promises made to me and I know will always be true.
But also....I had this really scary dream about aliens taking over the world. We watched signs last night, so that's why. lol. I love that movie!
ok...back to the baby....such distractions
But I was also anxious to find out the gender. That's where the surprise part comes in. That's where I worry. I don't know why. I guess I don't want to disappoint anyone. I'm a people pleaser. And, I don't want to be disappointed. Why do people have this "gender disappointment?" I don't understand. I guess because people get their hopes up hoping for one thing and get the other....then they have to get used to the idea of them having the other gender.
I'm not going to lie....I wanted a boy.
I've always wanted boys. Two boys then a girl. Lol.
I had a big brother that I loved and he protected me.....I just wanted that for my kids too.
We found out it's another girl!
Of course. lol.
We are super excited!
No, I didn't cry out of disappointment when she told us.
I did feel bad about not jumping for joy the second after though.
Then.....I felt like a failure
I know I should just be happy that the baby is healthy and I am able to have a baby, that it hasn't been difficult for me to get pregnant. That nothing has happened to this baby. Who cares if it's a boy or girl, right? I should count my blessings.
Then I feel even worse. ugh!
We think we have a name picked out....but we probably won't tell anyone. lol
don't worry, it's not something like Apple or Clementine.
Apparently, K thinks it should be Cinderella.
seriously. lol. she is tooo funny!!

shirt to shoes
I made baby shoes!!
they are super cute! I can't wait to make more!
I used an old button up shirt from H&M, just just out what i needed and used an old free fleece work blanket that i threw in the closet to be used for something else.
The original pattern can be found here.
then i added this extra fabric and a button which i saw here.
and girls need shoes too!
especially since we could have either...we find out oct. 26!!
ahhh i can't wait.

and what's better than some ruffles??
I love ruffles.
I still have extra fabric leftover to make some bowties and headbands to go with.
I'm so excited!
I have a pair of pants in my closet (grey pinstripe) that i want to use next....

Sweaters to Scarves
So i have these old sweaters that don't fit. Even pre-pregnancy.
I blame miss k. lol.
SO i cut them off right under the sleeves....straight across, with a rotary cutter.
then I serged the edges to prevent even more fraying. it's a sweater...i couldn't think of anything else to do with it. lol. then sewed/hemmed that under.
So now....I have new scarves. they are quite cowl-like. i might take them in a bit on the side, we will see.
they are warm and cozy and I like them!
ps i cut these in....NOVEMBER of LAST YEAR!!
ugh....since last month was national sewing month....it was one of my many must-finish projects.

it's a snowy day
miss k and I went grocery shopping today....
it was raining yesterday and today as well....
then the SNOW came
seriously
it's Oct 6
I thought I had until Halloween, at least.
nope. lol.
so I went out looking like this:
it was fun. it was still about 37 degrees out so nothing was sticking

yep. it's now 33 degrees and the rooftops have a dusting on them!
oh my. lol.
It's not supposed to stop either.
it's crazy.
but that's where we live!
gotta love it!
it's coming down hard! it has been 30 mins and i swear it's coated out there:
tomorrow they are calling for rain, but they did today as well!
So we will see.
Sunday it might get up to 60, so that's nice.
General Conference was last weekend
It was nice to go back to Amber & Jared's and hang out there.
It brought back lots of good memories from last october's conference, when I flew to UT from MD to go to two sessions.
to make it all the better....I went with Drew.
we were "just friends" at the time. But we both knew....

it was SO MUCH FUN!!
we went and looked at temples and ate in & out
we made tacos for dinner for A&J
plus we talked a lot about everything.
and got like 4-5 hours of sleep!
(we were constantly talking {texting} ever since he left thou)
This past weekend, I was also able to head up into the canyon with A&J to take some maternity pics!
SO fun!! She is.....um....31/32 weeks so still looking good!
Here are a couple of my favs....
her bump is SO cute!
The nursery is pretty set & ready for him to come.
I am doing her 2nd baby shower later this month, so that should be fun!
We can't wait til he gets here....and see his blonde {ginger} hair and blue eyes. lol!!
And, I have not been slacking....
I have taken my belly shots for the past 2 weeks...
i look bigger at 14 weeks than I did at 15!
i must have been super bloated that day....or just ate.
that bump is getting huge....just saying.
baby is pretty high up there compared to miss k. i just feel tons and tons bigger.
like this one is pointing straight out there! lol.
still not feeling great either :/
i swear i have had a headache for the past 3 mos straight. ughhhh. no fun!
but i'm not as nauseas, not as tired and doing generally ok.
we are so excited for the weeks to come!
