1. Do you decorate for the 4th of July?

yes.....but i don't have that many decorations so it doesn't look like it. I did make a flag banner that is hanging .

2. Do you you buy fireworks for the 4th of July?

I haven't yet....this year we are planning on getting at least some sparklers, we will be camping this weekend so hopefully we will get to see them.

3. How do you celebrate the 4th of July?

BBQs usually. Maybe we can make this an annual 4th of July camping trip.....hmmmm.

4. Do you have a family member that is serving our country?

Yes. lots of cousins and in-laws that serve. But also, we have lots of immediate family members that are now retired or honorably discharged. We are always grateful for their time served and for the sacrifices they have made and for the way they bring honor to our family. We are a VERY patriotic family :)

5. Do you dress in red, white, or blue on the fourth?

YES! if it's only jeans and a red shirt, that's ok too. eventually i want us to all match somehow too lol. the hubs will love that. hahahah.

Birthday 6/14/11

so my birthday started out at 330 am....the power was out. ugh. no lights anywhere. no fan to keep a noise going. we don't have the ac on yet (it has barely gotten into the 70s) but it was still hot. ugh. took a little bit to fall back asleep, but finally we did. luckily the child didn't wake and cry because her night light wasn't on. lol.

The hubs got me P90x and a yoga mat for my birthday!!!!

SO excited for that!!

But we aren't starting today...no way! I am not starting a "diet" (basically just eating better than we have, no restrictions....just smarter) on my birthday!

psssshh! i want cake!

After dropping daddy off at school, K and I head for the park/spray park

i love her little zig zag (or chevron if you please) swimsuit. we bought it on clearance at target last year! yeaaa! only like $3.50 or something!

she is brave enough to stick her hand in the fountain.

but that's it....she ran away screaming right after that. lol.

it was really cold water.

the is seriously thinking about going over to touch it again....you can see it in her face!

ohhhh....nope...

she saw the other girls running around screaming and decided it wasn't going to happen.

but she tried once more.

then we got dressed immediately. silly girl.

we hit up the swings.

she loves them now. stays on for a good ten minutes sometimes!

even says "higher"

Daddy walked over from the school and he tried to put her feet in the water again...still too cold.

post nap. love that bed head.

all clean and ready to go!

it was windy after her nap so while she was riding her bike and mommy was cleaning out the car for masani's visit. she had to wear a jacket.

then, we went to pick up daddy from work!

He actually had more time left than he expected so we went "down hill"

usually we get distracted by the waiter drain thingy.

we usually go up and down the hills about 9 times

its a good tire the kid out activity.

then we headed to this thai place for dinner. We were also joined by VW and brittney.

it was pretty yummy. My dish was allll fried thou...ugh. not a good choice. at all! But the pot stickers we had before were delish! K loved them. she thought they were eggs. hahaha!

then we stopped by the cocoa bean.....??....it's a cupcake place here. they are yummy. a bit too sweet and heavy on the icing (i watch a lot of cupcake wars :) but still good. they only kinds they had were these two. A chocolate raspberry cheesecake! yummers. gonna have to make my own version of this soon. and a snickerdoodle one (which i didn't get to try! grrrr.) But k LOVED it! she ate half.

plus she had some ice cream with chocolate sauce.

my wonderful hubby....who will never look at the camera. whatevs. LOVE him!

Here are this week's questions!

1. What is you favorite summertime snack?

popsicles. ice cream. slushees. basically anything frozen and sweet. i would eat a frozen capri sun and be happy :)

2. Do you tan at all? (tanning bed, outside, spray, etc)

i used to occasionally frequent the tanning bed. but now, the only sun i get is when i'm outside with miss k. right now it's still too cold to get in any outdoor water :/

3. What is your favorite activity to do outside?

go swimming.

4. Do you recycle?

used to. oops. need to get back into that habit.

5. How hot is it where you live today?
not very....high about 70, sunny and breezy. very nice, especially since it's my birthday!! (more on that later!)

1. How often do you wash your vehicle?

Not often enough. Almost never. Before I had miss K, I never did either. Don't know why, guess it's pretty low on the priority list. But...that's the great thing about a great hubby! I can make him do it :)

2. When riding in a car with someone who usually drives, them or you?

I want to. The hubby and I switch off, depends on where we are going.....If i'm dropping him off (at school because we don't have a parking permit-and only 1 car) then i drive. otherwise he does.

3. How many states have you traveled to or through?

a lot...lol...that's really hard! I'm going to say 27

4. What kind of music do you listen to the most?

country. with some pop and rap thrown in there too.

5. Do you prefer the window down or air conditioning?

depends on how fast i'm going. highway=air conditioning. driving thru town=windows down....miss k loves it too.
