Birthday 6/14/11

so my birthday started out at 330 am....the power was out. ugh. no lights anywhere. no fan to keep a noise going. we don't have the ac on yet (it has barely gotten into the 70s) but it was still hot. ugh. took a little bit to fall back asleep, but finally we did. luckily the child didn't wake and cry because her night light wasn't on. lol.

The hubs got me P90x and a yoga mat for my birthday!!!!

SO excited for that!!

But we aren't starting today...no way! I am not starting a "diet" (basically just eating better than we have, no restrictions....just smarter) on my birthday!

psssshh! i want cake!

After dropping daddy off at school, K and I head for the park/spray park

i love her little zig zag (or chevron if you please) swimsuit. we bought it on clearance at target last year! yeaaa! only like $3.50 or something!

she is brave enough to stick her hand in the fountain.

but that's it....she ran away screaming right after that. lol.

it was really cold water.

the is seriously thinking about going over to touch it again....you can see it in her face!

ohhhh....nope...

she saw the other girls running around screaming and decided it wasn't going to happen.

but she tried once more.

then we got dressed immediately. silly girl.

we hit up the swings.

she loves them now. stays on for a good ten minutes sometimes!

even says "higher"

Daddy walked over from the school and he tried to put her feet in the water again...still too cold.

post nap. love that bed head.

all clean and ready to go!

it was windy after her nap so while she was riding her bike and mommy was cleaning out the car for masani's visit. she had to wear a jacket.

then, we went to pick up daddy from work!

He actually had more time left than he expected so we went "down hill"

usually we get distracted by the waiter drain thingy.

then it's run, run, run...

we usually go up and down the hills about 9 times

its a good tire the kid out activity.

then we headed to this thai place for dinner. We were also joined by VW and brittney.

it was pretty yummy. My dish was allll fried thou...ugh. not a good choice. at all! But the pot stickers we had before were delish! K loved them. she thought they were eggs. hahaha!

then we stopped by the cocoa bean.....??....it's a cupcake place here. they are yummy. a bit too sweet and heavy on the icing (i watch a lot of cupcake wars :) but still good. they only kinds they had were these two. A chocolate raspberry cheesecake! yummers. gonna have to make my own version of this soon. and a snickerdoodle one (which i didn't get to try! grrrr.) But k LOVED it! she ate half.

plus she had some ice cream with chocolate sauce.

my wonderful hubby....who will never look at the camera. whatevs. LOVE him!

post nap may 11

so after ks nap, we went on a walk. mommy had a bright idea. lets walk to daddy's work and we can come home with him.....it's not too far from the house. but it's a really long walk.

we didn't take the short route either.

lesson learned.

we came across a canal and k wanted to look and throw some rocks in.

that's what we usually do when there are bodies of water around.

on our way we stopped at a park

she didn't get very close to the playground thingy. she kept saying "peoples park" = there are people at the park.

they were big kids and she was a bit timid about trying to go on with these wild kids running around.

she was excited to play with the dog, you can see it in the background.

then we continued on our walk and found a cool path and so we took it.

it lead to a school. k loved to run on the field and chase the birds. She can never catch any!

of course, the school had some playgrounds of their own. with some big slides....which k thought were scary so she stayed away.

she loved this slide....why?? i dunno. seems like a bumpy ride, but whatever girl.

you can't really tell, but from the bottom of the slide to the ground, there is about a foot drop. not so fun for a 2 year old. she fell down, wasn't hurt.

it was funny.

i laughed.

then we found another slide!

we were so excited.....

until mommy said she was going to wait at the bottom just in case k fell down.

she looked at me, said "fall down..."

then she was backing away.

i guess she got scared.

after numerous attempts to leave....which took forever...then back and forth between the two playgrounds at the school, we finally got outta there and back on our walk to the college.

it was fun....next time we will avoid all the parks, if we want a shorter walk.

lots of fun though!

Pre-nap May 11

it was a nice day out finally....so we went on a walk and to the park in our neighborhood

a trip down the slide

she kept cheezing for me the whole time...

finally i got a different face from her.

she loves to jump and jump

saying hello into the "telephone" thingy. sometimes she acts like it's a shower.

i love how she swings from the bar above the slide.

this is where she found a bug on the slide....then wouldn't go down it. she backed away...all the way down the stairs. lol.

then she went to sit and talk about the bug on the slide.

we left after that....not much else to do when the slide is filled with bugs.

crazy girl.

i love that i can bust out the flip flops!!

we need more days like this....consistent ones. not 1 nice day. 3 not so nice days.

it has really only gotten up to about 80. if we are lucky. then it rains and is cold and windy. weird.

and not so fun when you have a restless 2 year old who just wants to be outside 24/7.
