Just a quick update on Miss K. These are photos from maryland, right before we left....there will be new ones coming soon.
At her recent appointment, her 2 year well check-up she was 36 in long (in the 94th %tile) and 26 lbs (the 41st %tile.) She didn't want to open her mouth and show the doctor until after he left. Then she was kind of upset no one was looking in her mouth. silly.
she's a wild child
Seriously, though. WILD CHILD. she likes to do her own thing. If you ask to hold her hand as you cross the street, she will quickly say pockets and shove her hands in her pockets so you can't.
She runs around the house and just flops herself anywhere.
She has to do mostly anything herself....dressing, eating, playing at the park, and if you do it she will freak out.
she went around to every bunch of flowers and smelt them. silly girl.
Her Favorite phrase for a while was "mama do it."
I just refused and eventually she just started to say whoever was doing it. She can't be picky. now, if daddy changes her diaper, "daddy do it" lol
this is her "whoa" face.
She still doesn't know her colors, we work on it all the time. seriously....her default used to be green. now whenever we ask what color something is, it's pink. sometimes, she's right. lol.
sitting nicely as she watches the boys play some basketball.
We went to the stadium one night so A could play some soccer. k was so excited all day. she kept saying soccer, soccer....and when we did get there it was basically snowing. we still had fun, and everytime we pass by any feild it's "soccer" or "daddy soccer"
this was so funny....she was saying "ow wow owo wow ow" the whole walk from the ball in the background to me. she wanted her shoes off though.
She is a big footed girl. wearing size 7-8. her feet are sweaty and stinky too.
mostly because she always wants to wear her snow boots, with no socks. it's yucky.
I can't wait until we can wear flip flops all day.
with dan.
She asks about the boys all the time. She misses her uncles.
riding on uncle karson's skateboard.
everytime we read the daddy book, there is a skateboading part and she always points out that karson has a skateboard.
chasing after the duck that come into the lawn.
we have a love hate relationship with the ducks. lol. she loves them and will find them and point them out....but she also balls her hands into fists and says "scarry" about them.
"all gone"
We found a stool at the DI for $2. I was thinking a great get on the potty stool....nope. still no luck in that department. Here is a frequent conversation of ours:
Me: (enthusiastically) Want to go sit on the potty?!?
K: No, diaper change.
Me: Are you sure, mama uses the potty
K: Sure, diaper change
She still refuses to poop.
serioiusly.
weirdest thing in the world.
I really hope that ends soon.
spending some last moments with masani
we get to skype with masani and she talks to her on the phone as well.
hanging out on the porch.
And said stool....I will post a pic soon.
She LOVES that thing!
She took it to sleep with her a few times.
She uses it to get into more stuff! Getting stuff out of the sink, turning on and off lights, getting into her chair to eat. anything. she is seen most times running through the house all excited with her stool in her hands.
With oscar. She misses him too
She knows exactly where the park is. We can go on a walk and completely avoid the park, and the whole time she is looking in it's direction, like....ok, when are we going that way, I know the park is there.
She gets very excited when we see the temple (this is daily, since it's about 2.1 miles from our house) Sometimes, she even claps, when we get close. And she knows which is the temple vs. chapels. And that you have to wear a dress to go to the temple....more about that on her 2 year birthday post! :)
She really is a sweet girl and we love her so! She started saying sorry all the time. For anything. even to her doll. She was rolling on her bed and saying sorry, sorry, sorry....I guess she was squishing her baby. poor thing, it's really not as neglected as it used to be. She does kiss it too.
She still points to her cheek and says, "wisten." She can hear an airplane, motorcycle, or truck super quick, and knows the difference.
She no longer needs the tv on for a nap! a book works just fine now. usually, whenever she wakes up from her nap or in the morning we have to go in and get her. (which I still don't understand, she can open the doors--but that's okay!) When we do go in, she is usually sitting in bed, reading a few books. its super cute.
Just some pictures from my camera and some descriptions. I have been having trouble with posting this and I couldn't put my finger on why....I wanted to, but didn't at the same time. Until I ran across my friend's blog here. She says she didn't want to blog after her husband's homecoming. This was, I believe his first deployment, so, first homecoming, and she says, "it really was so dear to my heart that its hard for me to share that part with anybody." I can understand that. I'm not going to go into too many details or share too many of the pictures. Trust me....there are TONS! But I see this as our family's own personal journal, and I am doing this for my friends and family that would like see. It's hard because there are certain people that I hope never come across this blog, hence the fact that the old blog went private for a while. But as long as our family is safe, we will be public and we will share :)
Tiffany, the make-up artist...with her massive collection! You can check out her work here Sunglasses we got for everyone in the party. They were fun! I still wear mine all the time More Make-up! The dress that I wore! Big thank you-again goes to Amber to loaning it to me....and to Jared for bringing it out from salt lake on some last minute notice! He is awesome! I was up by 7, showered and hair in curlers by the time Jess and Tiffany got there. They said something about how calm I was, that they would have been nervous wrecks! LOL. yea. I can see that. I was more excited and more....just ready. On the drive to the temple with my handsome man! Post temple pics.... It was freezing! Ok, not freezing, just so windy that it made it freezing. It was a gorgeous day, partly cloudy. Just so cold from the wind. Brrrr.....Just thinking about it is making me cold. lol. Jared and Amber. Great pic of them! I love this picture of the boys! They're just lookin all cute. lol. Gotta keep things light. I don't even remember who stole my camera at this point. But they got some pics! With all the guys..... they are so funny. My side of the family it was cold, and somehow miss k didn't have a jacket. So we tried to protect her from the wind. poor thing. that's why she isn't in too many of the pics. The girls....I heart them! My mom looks so pretty in this picture! She is with my brother and Jonathan here And her sister Betty and sister(in law) Esther. They all coordinated to wear purple. with her brothers Jr. and Robert My nephew Jon, being silly. Jus, Brandon, Dan....posing for the camera. They are making fun of brandon here. lol. too funny! The Candy Bar. Big Hit. A's guitar, which we forgot to bring to the temple for the professional pics, but that's okay! He did serenade me during the luncheon. Sang, Just the way you are, by bruno mars. He has a video on FB singing it, he's awesome. He says he learned that because of me :) a bit blurry but still cute! we are awesome! hahahaha. We found this picture on there too....guess justin took it when he brought my camera home. Thanks for keeping it safe, this is a funny photo, glad he didn't break the camera! LOL. ;) So, those were a few from my camera.....more posts soon of pics from Brother B, who took tons of pics at the reception as well as the professional photogs!
Yayyy for trying to catch up on the blogging!!! GO ME! lol.
Thursday, March 24, 2011 Our day started out early. Too early for me. I knew I should've packed up my car the night before to cut off time. But that's okay. Karson set off the fire alarm at about 1230 am, and it scared the butt outta me! He was saying something about a soccer ball and stuff. it was weird....and kinda funny. Things got loaded up and we were off to the church to decorate by about 930. It was cold and slightly rainy. Then, Andrew set off the church's fire alarm! seriously?? yep! It was loud and annoying. The fire department ended up coming and we all got a good laugh.
Miss k kept herself busy by going through ma sani's bag. Papa Lawrence was our ring leader....
Drew tried to keep me happy through all the stresses and craziness. yep, there was a bit o that. But we won't get into it :) We eventually got most of the work done, and it was already time to get ready for my bridal shower.....which was at 630!! what??? yes, it really took that long to decorate that cultural hall.....and it wasn't done. *sigh* I was exhausted by this point. I just wanted to relax and take a bath, sleep, get a massage, something! A shower and getting make-up on helped. alot. So we headed over to Jaque's housefor a good party with great food!! Jess, Amber, and Summer looking all beautiful! My TO-DIE-FOR orange creamsicle cupcake!!! Jess did an awesome job on these. I love her! I need to get the recipe too, I tried some, and they were good too. But, hers were better :) Christina and the adorable Riley were able to make it! Jess got this really cool bride-to-be sign on Etsy. Love that site! I could drop some major change there if I could. lol Food....Awesome! notice that they are in flower pots. going along with a garden type theme. They did an advice board for me....which I didn't get! Rachel, my maid o honor and I! :) people eating. lol I'm just being a dork here! LOL! beautiful sisters, my mom and aunt betty! love them! Amber put together this game of 20 questions, 10 about Drew, 10 about me and he answered the questions and I was supposed to get his answers correct. For every wrong answer I had to eat a very large gumball. Eventually, we went to half. LOL..... but, I didn't get that many wrong. They were just that large. I think I got only 7 wrong. and 2 were Drew's fault, he answered them wrong in the first place! LOL Then, sister young put together this awesome story with candy. It was hilarious. my basket was FILLED to the brim with all different candies! IT was awesome! I wish I had the time I would post the whole story....I will try, it was way too cute to not share! It was funny, and sweet, and just awesome.....i think i said that. lol. That candy lasted a whole month! We ate it on our honeymoon, we ate it on our roadtrip, we ate it here in the apartment when we had very little food yet. lol. My three beautiful girls! They did such an awesome job with everything! I am so glad they were there to help. I am so glad that they did all they did. They are amazing! I love them all!
So we went to our very first young married ward today. It was tons of fun. There was about 7 other new families in the ward as well. We had a new family meet and greet thing during sunday school, there was lots of laughs. We start out with Relief Society/Preisthood at 9 am. I missed most of RS since I was busy trying to get K set up in nursery. Poor Girl. She cried. But then was distracted by feeding the babies and eventually was ok!!! YAYYY!!! Bridgette is the nursery leader, super cute and bubbly. BUt....I believe she just got called into the primary. BOoooo!! K actually liked her!! Hope next week goes well....better even! When we picked her up, she was fine. silly girl. she's such a drama queen. lol. Our ward is quite large, the largest in the stake, and it is *only* for our apartment complex! WOW!! That's so cool. Only our neighbors go there. Our building has 8 wards that meet there on Sunday! WOW! Amazing.... In our meetinghouse, there is actually 2 chapels! whhhat? crazy! So many people. Everyone married. Some have children. K has 2 other girls with her in nursery Brooklyn (glad I didn't name K that. lol) who is 2 1/2, and Emelia (?) who just turned 18 months today! FUN. they are super cute. There are also a bunch of babies as well, and preggos. lol. There is a luau on Saturday with a roasted pig, we are super excited for it. We both couldn't wait to go to church, to get ourselves established here. To be involved in our ward. It's so great that basically no matter where we move to we can go to church and it's THE SAME! Same values, same scripture, same prophet, same lessons, same formats, same priesthood, same relief society, everything. The people are going to be different, and I miss the people in my old wards. But I belong here right now. I belong in this town, with these people. I am so very blessed to be here. So blessed to be married to such a wonderful man! So blessed that he is a worthy priesthood holder. So blessed that I have a Father in Heaven who loves me and my family, so much that He sacrificed His Son for us, so we could have eternal life. This song from the LDS Children's Songbook says it all:
How could the Father tell the world of love and tenderness? He sent his Son, a newborn babe, with peace and holiness. How could the Father show the world the pathway we should go? He sent his Son to walk with men on earth, that we may know. How could the Father tell the world of sacrifice, of death? He sent his Son to die for us and rise with living breath. What does the Father ask of us? What do the scriptures say? Have faith, have hope, live like his Son, help others on their way. What does he ask? Live like his Son.
I know that my redeemer LIVES, he truely does live. Just as this song says:
He lives, my kind, wise heav’nly Friend. He lives and loves me to the end. He lives, and while he lives, I’ll sing. He lives, my Prophet, Priest, and King. He lives and grants me daily breath. He lives, and I shall conquer death. He lives my mansion to prepare. He lives to bring me safely there.
This Easter Sunday I have a better appreciation of the atonement and of the resurrection. I am so thankful for my life and for my many blessings. I love my family and friends and my Heavenly Father SO much.
Our new apartment still isn't all put together, i need to hang pictures, i need to catch up on blogging, i need to finish this load of laundry.... but all i can think about is what i could be sewing!! i would much rather do that...it's so much more fun and has more thought involved. i think. I can't go buy fabric, so i need to use my stash. im excited! My awesome aunt made me some jellyrolls (40 strips of fabric 2.5 x 45 in) and i also have some from my stash. i can't just keep collecting fabrics.. so i must sew! sweeet!! i want to make so much stuff!! more camera strap covers, dresses, purses, skirts, and a guitar strap cover (for drew). SO exciting! here is whats next, using 2 jelly rolls! yay! :) found here
Just some photos that I found that were taken on A's ipod.....speaking of which.....we can't find that thing. Haven't seen it since right after the wedding. That can't be good.
This is Craig's photo from the wedding. We are standing with all of my family that came to the temple with us. It was an amazing experience. The day was great. We are SO blessed! I will post more photos later. We are busy, busy, busy with packing and doing so much stuff that it will eventually get done :) I promise. Once I get all the photos together, there will be an amazing post!

Why am I thinking about this at 5 am? I don't know. I just can't sleep. I'm congested and very tired but I just lie here. Food is definately on my mind. Plus wedding stuff. Sleep would be lovely, we have church in tne morning!

So I'm trying not to freak out....
Buuuuut....
We still don't have a photographer.
seriously!!!
I feel like throwing up.
Lindsay, who did our engagement photos, is due to have a baby that next week and cannot do it. I am trying to not go to her, begging and pleading, crying.....please just do it for an hour or two. I trust her. I have seen her work and would be perfectly happy. (sigh)
But that's okay.
I have tried Sarah Fletcher, in DC. No luck. She is moving to London in 6 months and isn't doing any 2011 weddings. What? really? It cant be that hard.....Guess it is.
I have emailed 5 other photographers, no luck yet. One was about a week after we got engaged and she never even responded. rude. The others, I tried to contact just today, so I understand that.
I feel like I dropped the ball.
My Bad.
What am I going to do??
I pray a door will open somewhere. I pray it is also an inexpensive door. I pray that it can make me happy.
That would suck to not have good photos of this day. Or no photos.. . . ok, we would have some, but still. This is just one of the most important days of our lives.
We have waited and prepared for this day for a long time. A temple sealing has so much meaning and purpose. It is a very important part of Heavenly Father's plan for us. With it, our family can be together forever. With it, our children can also be sealed to us forever. Death doesn't need to be the end to our cherished relationships. Our marriage won't be "until death do us part," it will be eternal.
When I think of this, my worries about not having a photographer go away.
We are going to have fun that day. We are going to finally be a family. We will be complete. We will be so blissfully happy. We will be making and full-filling God's promises through our obedience, faith, and patience.
That is what matters! :)
